University students petition BNI to investigate UEW-K authoritiesUniversity Of Education Winneba

Students of the University of Education Winneba, Kumasi campus (UEW-K) are in arms with their authorities over a new payment system introduced claiming it a ploy to fleece them.

Management of UEW-K has introduced what they termed as a “flexible payment system” where students facing challenges can make part payment of approved fees and partake in examinations that will be conducted by the University’s academic board.

But some students are at the throat of their leadership and have accused them of shielding information from the larger populace of the students regarding an amount of Hundred Ghana Cedis they were asked to pay by the authorities.

The aggrieved students find activities of the management and the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) illegal and therefore have petitioned the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) to look into the matter.

A letter sighted by mynewsgh.com’s Kwabena Danso-Dapaah to the BNI stated numerous concerns by the students in the school which became imperative for security agencies to intervene including the following; “Students who could not pay their fees in full last semester were asked to write an application through their Heads of Department to the College Finance Office for onward approval before registration. Students were ambushed as officials of the registration demanded an amount of GH¢50.00 from each student who made part payment of fees last semester. Students have been forced to pay GH¢150.00 before they can register courses for the next semester. Students went to register this semester and have to pay GH¢10.00 for a chit”

Several attempts to get officials of the University to respond to these the allegations have proven futile as authorities say they are waiting to hear from the BNI.

The difficulties of life.

Here is your motivational message for the day:
  • The difficulties of life. They unfortunate thing in this life is, we are not informed of its difficulties before getting into it. As a result, most of us come into the world with the illusion that it is easy.
Well, now you know it’s not easy and will never be. Now you know you have to be tough to play it tough. Now you know you have to stage a claim for your share of the good life. It’s time to get serious. You are responsible for you and that is a fact of life.
Your parents did their bit. They gave you the opportunity come into the world. They manage to watch you grow. It’s time for you to get into the game and play to win. I have told you several times that life is serious business. It’s a fiercely competitive field.
Not everything will come to you on a silver platter. Some things, actually, most of your pressing needs, will not come to you easily. If you know what you want in this life, get off your butts and chase it. You know what, attack it. Chasing is like starting from a losing end. Attacking, on the other hand, means going for your dreams with a do or die mentality.
Look, stop wishing things were easy. Stop blaming others for your life. It’s time you take up the task of creating whatever you think you want in this life. That is the only way to taking life seriously. And if life notices your seriousness, it hands you your ticket to the good life.
You deserve that good life, so, get up and go for it.
Keep the lion within you roaring all through the year. This is your year, this is your season, you are sure to smile again.
You are bound for the top. I love you! I believe in you! I believe in your dreams. You are chosen for greatness! YOU’RE TRULY BORN TO WIN!
